Ok, so I think it goes without saying that I love poodles. Especially standard poodles. There is something so special and unique about them...
Don't get me wrong...I love ALL dogs. ALL animals for that matter. But, poodles are just so poodley and wonderful.
It's like they are a fine crafted blend of part cat (very dramatic, sensitive, and discerning), part Hollywood actor (Look at me! Look at me! Wasn't that the BEST performance EVER), and part mad-scientist who surprises everybody when they smoke the competition in the 400 meter hurdles. And trust me, poodles smoke the competition in their athletic endeavors. A LOT. These are no dumb, sissy dogs! (see my post on Dog Camp)
A huge perk of welcoming Clooney into our home, was that we were adopted by an amazing extended poodle family. We have regular family reunions (again see my post on Dog Camp), play dates, and even human only gatherings (go figure). Our poodles are not just dogs and we aren't just owners. We are a mix of dog and human aunties, uncles, cousins, brothers, sisters, grandma...etc. You get the picture.
So, you can only imagine my delight when Clooney's human grandma (aka breeder) needed socialization help for her recent litter of puppies. It was the perfect opportunity for the puppies to experience a new environment and for me to assess upcoming "talent" for future modeling gigs.
Oh my goodness, did we have fun! Five puppies...four humans...I'm pretty sure the puppies won. See for yourself!
Like I said...these aren't sissy dogs! Look at that focus!
A Ball Dog in the works!
Call me weird, but how cute are these little poodley tooshies? Oh...and notice the full tails?
"my toy, My Toy, MY TOY"
Clooney's Mom and Grandma even stopped by to help judge the talent show...
And you can see where Clooney got his good looks from...this is his dog mom Nickel...
All good pet photographers know that to contain wild puppies, you put them in something...
Oops...that didn't work...
How about a comfy chair??
One of these cuties is going to live with the famous, Lacey, who's dad is also an outstanding photographer and the talent behind the Dogs of Marymoor Park Facebook page.
Alas, all babies fall asleep eventually!
