Not at all! We love shy pets! We may have spend more time getting to know each other so Carol can earn their trust. In some cases, you may be asked to pose with them until they feel safe and relax.
-
In a perfect world, all dogs would have some positive reinforcement obedience training - it helps them navigate our alien human norms and expectations.
BUT, even with the best of training, many dogs leave their brains at home on the day of the session. It's not their fault. We just have too much fun!
AND, most puppies at around 6 months old forget all their obedience training anyway. So, depending on their age, they may be in remedial training.
Then there are cats...who mostly just train us.
The good news is...Carol very patient, loves to laugh, and somehow still manages to get the shot.
This is also why the Zoom consultation and Treat and Greets are so important. She learns your pet's personality, and if necessary will hire an animal wrangler to help with the session.
-
YES! We love capturing that special relationship between people and their best buddies!
-
If we hold the session at a fenced Sniffspot, your fenced back yard or in my studio, leashes are generally not required.
Because safety is our utmost importance, any other outdoor sessions require a leash.
The good news is...Carol has mad Photoshop skills and can remove distracting leashes when necessary.
-
Of course! Animals are her passion - whether they have fur, feathers, scales or hair...doesn't matter.
-
The pricing is the same regardless if you want the matted art prints.
The only exception to this is if you are a positive dog trainer, animal behaviorist, or vet med professional. We will create a custom package to help you promote your business.

Carol personally edits your images using a combination of Lightroom and Photoshop. Immediately following the session, she culls the rejects and makes minor color, crop and contrast edits in Lightroom. Once you've selected the prints you'd like, she pulls your selections into Photoshop for detailed processing which includes cleaning up backdrops, removing leashes, eye boogers, slobber (if desired). She also takes them through an intricate edit, preparing for prints.
-
We offer those too! You can purchase them separately, or instead of collecting the fine art prints in your package, we can apply a print credit towards a specialty product.
-
Carol does! Any print 16x20 or smaller is printed by Carol in her studio, on premium fine art paper using archival inks. She's a stickler for exceptional quality and this gives her the most control over the final product. So, maybe she's a little bit of a control freak?
That said, if you are looking for metal, canvas or acrylic displays, she will outsource to one of her vetted premium print partners whose quality she stands behind.

For any prints you order, we keep your digital negatives safely stored on our many hard-drives and back ups. We keep them forever, pending any natural or health disaster.
For images that you have not ordered as a print, we keep for 3 years from your session date before deleting.
